Hi,

Thank you for the mail.

We arrived yesterday at 23:00 UTC, pushed by our 4th low of the crossing.
It took us 8 days to cover the 1317 miles between Horta and les Sables d'Olonne and the weather condition were not good enough to enable a stop at a Coruna where some friends of mine, on two boats, are blocked since the beginin of the week waiting for a good weather window to go down to Gibraltar.

At this time Darren and Ian are already back in UK.

We all really enjoyed the crossing, the 4 legs of it and did value the friendly atmosphere we had at each stop.

Once arrived we want to say hello to all the friends we left in Horta and we hope they all had a good crossing from the Azores to Lagos.
We also wish that the boats that went north, as we did, have an enjoyable and safe crossing, one fast as the one we experienced, even if at some point it was a bit bumpy.
We also want to say to the ones that goes to the Med that they are the lucky ones as the weather here is far from being what can be expected normally in June.

All the best to all, may be we will meet some day in some marina.
Thank you too to the yellow shirts team as you have been very operational in making ARC Europe such an enjoyable event.

The Hanami II team: Marc, Darren, Ian.

Hi Marc, Darren & Ian,

I hope all is well ashore in France after Leg 3, the last one home, the weather looks to have made it a pretty quick trip, hope it wasn't too bumpy?!  I see a lot of the boats now taking a bit of a dive to the east to avoid the worst of it, maybe even having to pull in on the top corner there of Spain?

We are just having the first of the boats arriving into Lagos today, Scolamanzi and Common Sense, mind you they got a bit of a head start on the others, then the rest follow tonight and tomorrow.

It was great to have you part of ARC Europe this year and it's always a shame in the Azores when the rally starts to 'split up' but everyone starts to make their own way home so to speak.

At the final prizegiving in Lagos I like to mention the yachts that have made ARC Europe really special but are not going to be in Lagos.  We pop up a picture of each boat and like to read out a 'telegram' from them either still at sea or safely in port.  It makes it a lot of fun and if you would like to put together a small hello/update from Hanami II that I can read out on Sunday 17th June that would be great.  I know its a few days away until the prizegiving but I will then have time to get them all ready.

As I say it's been great to have had Hanami II and your crew a part of ARC Europe, I reckon we will be seeing you somewhere down the line, maybe ARC again one day!

All the best Lyall and Kieran
