In my last blog, I said that Marc gets all the rain. Well that's all changed now. A series of squalls have marked the last couple of days, with winds up to 27-29 knots and plenty of rain to share.
I was helming and Darren shouted out 'storm!', and the next thing was loads of spume, loads of wind and rain, and full main up. They said they wouldn't come up to reef until the rain stopped! (Actually, they did).
We are all trying to work out what is best to wear. Too hot for full foullies. Darren is going withe waterproof top and swimming shorts, which dry quickly. i did put foully bottoms on last night watch, and it didn't rain.
Reports of boats losing sails etc.
Forecast says that there will be more lulls, mostly north of 14 degrees. We are one of the southerly boats now, so hopefully in good stead for winds to whisk us to St. Lucia.
It's nice seeing the Caribean islands on the same screen as our current position now ... not long!!!
The second half of the Mahi Mahi was pan grilled in butter with couscous.
Darren just found a flying fish that had landed on the deck. Dead, unfortunately, and too small for lunch. Returned to the deep.
Sun shining, so back up on deck....
